The Arnaldo Caprai winery was founded in 1971 to restore and enhance the ancient indigenous grape variety Sagrantino. Today, leader in the production of its namesake, Montefalco wine, the winery has reached a surface area of 370 acres, all of which belong to Montefalco DOC and DOCG and to the Colli Martani DOC zones. The tradition of these areas has allowed the Sagrantino vines to survive for centuries, whilst experimentation has allowed the company to produce wines of great prestige. With a philosophy of production tied to quality and respect for the land, the Arnaldo Caprai Winery has managed, over 40 years, to transform an endangered Sagrantino heritage, into a zone of excellence.
